The Chlorine Institute (CI) founded in 1924, is a technical trade association that exists to support the chlor-alkali industry in advancing safe, secure, environmentally compatible, and sustainable production, distribution, and use of its mission chemicals*.

Chlorine chemistry plays a critical role in meeting many of society's most basic needs, enabling scientists to pioneer advances in medicine and public health, agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, telecommunications, national security, renewable energy and other aspects of modern life.

Kynar® PVDF and Kynar Flex® copolymers are fluoropolymers with excellent corrosion resistance to chlorine and chlorinated solvents.  Common components made from Kynar®  PVDF are pipes, valves, pumps, tanks, tower packing, nozzles, hoses and tubing.  This polymer handles high process temperatures as well.
